altEvelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) has gone through a lot in the service of the Central Intelligence Agency and her country.  However, the question becomes “which country”  when a Russian names her as the product of a cold-war era program to turn children into deep-cover spies. On her side is her supervisor (Liev Schreiber) and  doubting her is a counter-intelligence expert (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

I've always thought that Angelina Jolie is overrated, nevertheless, she did an excellent job in the title role, convincingly portraying a character both feminine and tough, vulnerable and ferocious.  On the other hand, I think that supporting actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is underrated, stealing just about every scene he's in.

Salt is a middle of the road PG-13 film.  There's a fair amount of violence and a whole lot of action, but nothing that would keep me from taking an 11 year old kid to see.

It's a good and fairly unpredictable story that I found entertaining.  It keeps you guessing throughout, earning it's tag-line “Who Is Salt?”  As with most action films, it's definitely better in the theater, but should be nearly as good in the home theater (as long as your not watching it on a  19-inch square screen). I gave this one 7 out of 10 stars on IMDB.
